Reporting Suspected Child Abuse
Reporting potential child abuse can feel scary and uncomfortable. However, you are reporting an allegation that will then be thoroughly investigated so that the child and adult(s) can get the help they need.
What is child Abuse?
The physical or sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect of a child by a parent, guardian, foster parent, or by a caregiver, whether the caregiver is intrafamilial or extrafamilial, under circumstances indicating the child’s welfare is harmed or threatened. A child is an unmarried person under 18 years of age. [DoDI 6400.01 The Family Advocacy Program]
